Dad whose body is completely covered in tattoos undergoes transformation for the sake of his young daughter

We all have moments in our lives we’re not exactly proud of, like choices we wish we could undo or words we’d like to take back. But few of us carry around regrets as visible as those of Ethan “ModBoy” Bramble, an Australian man with more than 200 tattoos covering his body.

Nowadays, a lot of people express themselves through tattoos, with intricate, unique designs becoming especially popular. However, most people set a personal limit on how far they’re willing to go with body art, both in terms of style and expense. For Ethan, though, that limit was quite different.

According to reports, Ethan’s journey into body modifications started when he was just 11 years old. He first experimented by stretching his ears, a popular form of body modification. But this early interest quickly evolved into a dedication to a much more extensive transformation. Over the years, he’s undergone numerous procedures, including having his tongue split and even removing his belly button. Today, his tattoos and modifications make him instantly recognizable. Covered in ink from head to toe, Ethan estimates he’s spent approximately $60,000 AUD, or around $39,000 USD, on achieving his current look.

Yet, despite his dedication and the unique image he has cultivated, Ethan now admits he has some regrets about his choices.

In an interview with LadBibleTV’s No Filter series, Ethan opened up about his experience. He mentioned that while he does feel a certain amount of regret, there’s a difference between regretting his tattoos and wishing to change the way people view him. This reflection has led him to think deeply about the way his tattoos have affected his life and the way he’s perceived in everyday situations.

Ethan highlighted his concerns about the judgments he faces, especially in day-to-day situations that most people don’t give a second thought. For example, he mentioned how self-conscious he feels when doing something as routine as taking his daughter to school. He worries about the impact his tattoos might have on her and acknowledges that he wouldn’t want her to face similar issues because of his appearance—at least not until she’s old enough to understand.

Reflecting on his journey, Ethan admitted, “I wish I hadn’t gone so wild with my face tattoos.” This realization has spurred him into action, and he’s now working to undo some of the more extreme decisions of his youth. In recent years, Ethan has been undergoing laser treatments, a process he describes as lengthy and painful, in order to remove some of the tattoos he got when he was younger.

Ethan shared, “I’ve been undergoing laser treatment for about a year now. We’re tackling it in sections, but I’ve probably gone through the full process six or seven times.” This grueling commitment reflects the complexity of removing tattoos, especially ones as prominent as those on his face. He explained that his decision to undergo laser removal was largely influenced by anxiety. While mental health is often challenging to articulate, Ethan believes a significant portion of his anxiety stems from having such visible tattoos on his face.

Interestingly, while Ethan feels good about his overall appearance, he’s also excited by the idea of gradually removing the face tattoos over the next few years. “It’s kind of like clearing the canvas,” he says, describing his goal of achieving a cleaner, more flexible look that better aligns with his evolving self-image and future aspirations.

The journey Ethan is on is one that many people might find relatable, even if they’ve never opted for tattoos or body modifications. His story speaks to the broader theme of how our past choices can shape our present lives in ways we may not anticipate. Ethan’s experience underscores how self-expression, while empowering, can also carry lasting consequences that impact both self-perception and the way others view us.

Ethan’s story also highlights an important message about the permanence of certain choices, especially when it comes to body modifications. As tattoos and other forms of body art continue to become more socially accepted and accessible, his journey serves as a reminder to consider both the immediate and long-term effects of such choices. For Ethan, this realization came a bit later in life, but he’s now actively working to adjust his appearance to reflect the person he is today rather than the choices he made in his youth.

While Ethan’s appearance may always attract attention, his story reveals the complex relationship between self-expression and self-acceptance. It’s a journey of learning, reflecting, and making amends with past decisions. And as he continues his transformation, Ethan’s openness about his regrets and his ongoing efforts to reshape his image may inspire others to think carefully about the choices they make, particularly those that leave a lasting mark.
