The whole country is mourning the passing. Seven people died in the horror plane accident including three members of the Grammy-nominated band

A devastating plane crash tragically claimed the lives of all seven individuals on board, including members of the beloved Nelon family, a gospel music group cherished across the United States. Among those who perished were Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, their daughter Amber Nelon Kistler, and two other family members who had all been nominated for Grammy awards. Additionally, Amber’s husband, Nathan Kistler, Melodi Hodges, a close family employee, and the pilot, Larry Haynie, along with his wife, Melissa Haynie, also lost their lives in this tragic incident.

Notably absent from the flight was Autumn Nelon Streetman, a member of the group’s fourth generation. The family was en route to Alaska, where they were scheduled to perform as part of the Gaither Homecoming Cruise. The tragedy unfolded when their plane crashed in Wyoming, igniting a massive forest fire upon impact. A video recorded just before they boarded the ill-fated aircraft shows Jason engaging in conversation with his family and the pilot while standing on a runway in Nebraska. The mood in the video appeared lighthearted, with Jason and others smiling and enjoying their time together during a refueling stop around midday. In the background, the jet, believed to be owned by pilot Larry Haynie, can be seen parked on the runway.

The footage captures a group of seven individuals, five of whom are seen enjoying light-hearted conversations and laughter as they prepared for the upcoming journey. Tragically, this cheerful moment was the last recorded memory of the group. Shortly after takeoff, the plane plummeted to the ground, erupting into flames upon impact. The fiery crash caused a wildfire to break out nearby, prompting an immediate response from firefighters and emergency personnel. The Wyoming sheriff’s office later confirmed that there were no survivors from the crash.

Autumn Nelon Streetman, who was not on the plane, issued a heartfelt statement in the wake of the tragedy. “As many of you know, my parents, Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, along with my sister Amber, brother-in-law Nathan, and our dear friends Melodi Hodges, Larry, and Melissa Haynie, were involved in a devastating plane crash on Friday,” she said. Autumn expressed deep gratitude for the prayers and support that had already been extended to her and her family, including her husband Jamie, their unborn son, and Jason’s parents, Dan and Linda Clark. “Your prayers, love, and support will mean the world to us as we face the difficult days ahead. Thank you,” she added.

The plane involved in the crash was identified as a Pilatus PC-12/47E, owned by Haynie Enterprises, according to FlightAware.com.
