Doctor who worked with Joe Biden says he had cancer “while president”

A renowned oncologist who once worked closely with President Joe Biden has come forward with a bold claim: Biden likely had prostate cancer long before his diagnosis was publicly announced. The former president, now 82, is said to be battling an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has already spread to his bones, according to an official statement from his office.

“Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms,” the statement read. “On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5), with metastasis to the bone. While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management.”

The cancer was reportedly discovered last Friday after Biden experienced troubling urinary symptoms, prompting further examination and the eventual discovery of a small nodule on his prostate. The high Gleason score of 9 indicates a highly abnormal and fast-growing cancer, which experts say would likely have taken years to develop and spread to such an advanced stage.

Despite the initial outpouring of support for the former president, the timing of the diagnosis has raised serious questions. Critics, including many within the medical community, are puzzled as to how such an advanced form of cancer could have gone unnoticed despite the frequent and comprehensive health checks typically undergone by sitting presidents. These concerns have led to a wave of speculation and conspiracy theories, with some suggesting the diagnosis may have been known for much longer but intentionally withheld from the public—possibly to avoid undermining Biden’s political image during the 2024 election season.

One of the most vocal figures weighing in on the situation is former President Donald Trump. While he initially offered public support for Biden, Trump later cast doubt on the official narrative. “I’m surprised that it wasn’t—you know—the public wasn’t notified a long time ago,” Trump said. “To get to stage nine—that’s a long time.” He went on to suggest that “somebody is not telling the facts.”

Trump also linked the situation to longstanding concerns about Biden’s mental sharpness, saying, “It takes a long time to get to that situation. Now, I think, you know, to get to a stage nine, I think that if you take a look, it’s the same doctor that said that Joe was cognitively fine. There was nothing wrong with him. Well, he said—if it’s the same doctor—he said there was nothing wrong there. And that’s being proven to be a sad situation.”

Continuing on that note, Trump expressed concern that the American public may not have been given the full picture regarding the former president’s health. “In other words, there are things going on that the public wasn’t informed. And I think somebody is going to have to speak to his doctor if it’s the same, or even if it’s two separate doctors. Why wasn’t the cognitive ability discussed? And I think the doctor said he’s just fine. And it’s turned out that’s not so. It’s very dangerous. Look, this is no longer politically correct. This is dangerous for our country.”

But Trump isn’t the only one raising eyebrows. Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, an oncologist who served on Biden’s transition team and played a pivotal role in shaping the Affordable Care Act during the Obama administration, also believes the cancer has been present far longer than acknowledged. Speaking on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Emanuel stated, “He’s had this for many years, maybe even a decade, growing there and spreading. He did not develop it in the last 100 to 200 days.”

Dr. Emanuel suggested Biden may have already had prostate cancer at the start of his presidency in 2021. “Yes, I don’t think there’s any disagreement about that,” he said. Given the cancer’s progression to the bones, a number of experts now agree that it would be virtually impossible for it to have developed so aggressively in just a few months.

Another medical professional described the timeline as “inconceivable,” adding that it’s highly unlikely such a serious illness could go undetected for so long, particularly considering the level of medical scrutiny former presidents undergo. Dr. Emanuel emphasized the importance of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) screenings, which can help detect prostate cancer early—even though some guidelines don’t recommend them past the age of 70.

“He was vice president and had a lot of exams under 70,” Emanuel pointed out. “So it’s a little surprising that they didn’t do it. And maybe President Biden decided he didn’t want the test. Many men do decide they don’t want a PSA, but this is also aggressive.”

Dr. Emanuel also elaborated on the Gleason score system. “When we talk about the aggressive part, what we mean is that Gleason score. That score ranges from two up to ten. And he’s a nine. That means the cancer doesn’t look normal—it looks very abnormal, which is probably why it’s already in the bone.”

The debate over Biden’s health isn’t just about his personal well-being—it’s taken on political and national security implications. As questions continue to swirl, Americans are left to wonder whether the full truth about the former president’s condition has been shared with the public.

The controversy also highlights broader concerns about transparency in government health disclosures, especially when a leader’s condition could impact national or international decision-making. The issue is particularly sensitive in light of recent global tensions, and some political commentators argue that the American people have the right to know about any health issues that might affect their leaders’ ability to govern.

For now, the Biden team insists that treatment is underway and that the cancer is hormone-sensitive, which allows for more effective intervention. But as experts continue to speak out and the public demands answers, the question remains: Was this information kept hidden for political purposes?

As more details emerge, Americans across the country are offering prayers and support for Joe Biden. Regardless of political affiliation, many hope for a successful treatment and recovery for the former president. Still, the lingering doubts and unanswered questions ensure that this story is far from over.
